Feeding the Soul
A community effort to feed some local families in Auburn , Washington has transformed into a massive operation. Overcomer Covenant Church started handing out bagged lunches in March of 2020. As the need grew, the program expanded. Its now connected with a federal program, turning those single lunch bags into boxed care packages. Every Friday they serve more than 350 meals.
Hometown Charm Cafe
At the heart of Sumner, Washington, ‘Hometown Charm Cafe’ is as cozy as it gets. It’s owned and operated by April McLean and Teresa Maycumber, two best friends who grew up in town. Like many businesses, the 2020 pandemic and the subsequent shutdowns has severely impacted this locally owned shop.

Dance club challenges
Students from the University of Alaska Anchorage are showcasing their talents with less. Budget cuts forced the dance club to produce its yearly show without help from the Theater and Dance Department. Crammed in an outside studio, 9 choreographers and 26 dancers overcame the hurtles and managed to kick off UAA’s ‘Dance Showcase’
